SACIC Community Projects

SACIC is a non-profit organization representing a collaboration of business and government working to enhance balanced economic growth and the quality of life in the Greater Sylvania area.  Since 1968, SACIC has assisting projects throughout Sylvania and Sylvania Township.  Early in its history, SACIC financed the installation of 37 water and sewer lines at a cost of $7.3 million which led to significant manufacturing, commercial, and residential developments.  SACIC performed 23 community studies to assist schools, township and the city to improve the quality of life.

More recently, SACIC has utilized its limited financial resources to make solid, 5-year term, low interest rate loans to help companies locate or expand or remain within the boundaries of the Sylvania School District.  Examples include:

 

$100,000 to help Highland Meadows Golf Club improve all of the sand traps on the course, and $100,000 for a new driving range requested by the Ladies Professional Golf Association for the annual tournament which focuses the women’s golf world on Sylvania

 

$80,000 to Silica Properties for a utility line under Sylvania Avenue to serve the Timberstone Vet

 

$50,000 to KEI Holdings for flagpoles and landscaping at the Kripke Enterprises new facility on Central at Centennial

 

$37,733 for Yee Properties for a roof on the Main and Maplewood building, and $25,000 to replace the parking lot next to J&G’s Pizza

 

$125,000 to Midwest Security Products to assist in  their $2.2 million addition and expansion of their manufacturing plant.
